I am a teaching assistant at a primary school and have a child who uses some sign language as his mother is deaf and this course is brilliant to get you started. Amazing course!
I enrolled onto this course mid-summer this year to refresh my memory of BSL from 2 years ago. It is such a useful tool to recap vocab and the syntax of questions - and all for a decent price! I am still currently referring back to the contents of this course as I am now working towards a Level 1 qualification in BSL. I would definitely recommend it to those that want to learn something new and/or discover other ways of communication whilst learning about the culture.Shavana
Great course
Simple to follow, this course is all you need to learn basic conversational language in BSL. Any aspect of the course can be revisited at any time so uiu can practice as little or as much as you like! Definitely recommend.Ashley
- I havent quite finished all the assessments for this course yet but want to say that the course is excellent. I signed up here before I found a BSL evening course and what I learnt initially helped me learn more quickly when I did find an evening course because I already knew finger spelling and some basic vocabulary. Since I started my evening course, I have found Simons online course very useful for consolidation, too, as its easy to forget a lot from one week to the next since my evening classes are only once a week and the online signing jogs my memory considerably. This course is excellent value for money for those of us who cant afford the more highly-priced BSL courses, of which there seem to be many. I wish there were higher levels online than only the beginners course, though, as a CD doesnt give the same motivation to get down to learning.
